This project was funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA) to support the Public Sector Investment Facility (PIF) instrument, which is one of the financial tools for public sector investments in developing countries of Finland’s development policy. In particular, this project supported the priority area four (climate and natural resources) of the Finnish Development Policy.
The objective of the project was to strengthen Indonesia’s national meteorological and hydrological services, increase the national climate change adaptation capability and promote to include volcanic ash warning and forecasting to the National Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) planning. This involves extensive human capacity building, including scientific level meteorological training, which will increase the local capability permanently.
Osana assisted in outlining and presenting the findings of the pre-appraisal phase and conducting a series of meetings with the relevant parties, government authorities, local authorities, civil society organizations, private sector, and individuals relevant to the assignment to expand upon the findings and recommendations for the final report.
